Sylvia V. Reid

Sylvia has a lifetime of service to the ministry and community. She earned her degree in Organizational Leadership and Development from Azusa Pacific University and as an ordained minister, is currently pursuing a Master of Theology degree through Anderson University.

Sylvia served as Director of Auxiliaries, Volunteers, Special Events, Community Engagement, and Guest Services at West Angeles Church. She provided oversight, direction, leadership, and training to leaders, auxiliaries, and volunteers. She was responsible for special events, collaborations with community partners, and assisting guests from the Ecumenical, Political, Social Services, and Artistic Communities. Sylvia served her community on The Crenshaw Community Leadership Council, The Inter Faith Council for The Metro/LAX Project and the Political Action Network.

She has been afforded the privilege of sharing messages of hope and empowerment in a multitude of settings and is enthusiastic about elevating hope within underserved communities.

As the Founder and CEO of A Seat at Sylvia’s Table, Sylvia engages with women to help put them front and center in their own lives to move from existing to living.

Sylvia has a servant’s heart which is the core of her life’s work.
