THE APPLICATION PROCESS FOR THE 2017 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) WILL OPEN ON WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 15, 2017 AND CLOSE ON MONDAY, DECEMBER 18, 2017 AT 5:00 PM EASTERN TIME.
The Hope Fund of POISE Foundation was created by Reverend Ricky Burgess, Councilman for the 9th District of the City of Pittsburgh. The purpose for creating this fund was to provide transparency in the grant making function of the Councilman’s office and to take advantage of the grant making history of POISE Foundation in serving many of the neighborhoods making up District 9.
Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) dollars have been allocated to District 9 by the City of Pittsburgh. The CDBG program typically awards $70,000 for each program year. Grants may average from $5,000 to $15,000. POISE Foundation has entered into contract with the City of Pittsburgh to manage the selection process of funds allocated to District 9. The Foundation will solicit, review and assess, then select organizations for funding through CDBG grants. The organizations will enter into contracts directly with the Planning Department of the City of Pittsburgh who will manage the individual contracts. All organizations applying for these grants must meet HUD eligibility requirements as required throughout the proposal.
In addition to completing the online application, applicants must print out, sign and mail the signature page (must be original signature) to the POISE Foundation office. Your application will not be processed without the signature page.
