
How To Apply For Grants
POISE Foundation currently accepts proposals in many formats. However, each proposal must include include the following items:
Failure to provide the above information may disqualify funding for your project or ogranization. Any additional information to support the project is welcomed.
POISE Foundation accepts the Common Grant Application (click here for a PDF format application). Requests should be presented with a cover letter that describes the program, its objectives and specifies the amount of funds needed. The letter should convey justification for the request and be signed by the executive director and board chair.
Each applicant must present evidence of a charitable, tax-exempt status (i.e. IRS Determination Letter granting charitable status [501(c)(3) ruling].
Recipients of grants are expected to provide written periodic reports concerning the funded project or program (click here for a PDF format document detailing report format) . The timetable and content of the reports will be specified by the Foundation when each grant is made. Failure to provide timely reports will prevent future funding.
Currently, POISE Foundation limits its funding to organizations and programs serving the City of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County. Few exceptions will be made.
