Alpha's Scholarship

ALPHA'S FROM PITT USE POISE FOUNDATION TO REACH BACK

A group of alumni members of Pitt's Omicron Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha
Fraternity, Inc. has recently established a scholarship fund in POISE Foundation. The group is called the Omicron Alumni Association (OAA) and according to its President, DR. Vaughn Clagette (PITT: BS 1989 and MD 1993 ), "We who have and are enjoying successful careers based upon the excellent education we received at the University of Pittsburgh, have an obligation to help those who are now following in our footsteps. This scholarship is one way of fulfilling that obligation." OAA has advised the University of the fund and plans to meet with Pitt officials to discuss the details of administering the fund in conjunction with the University.

We are particularly proud that the OAA has selected POISE Foundation to
handle this important fund, especially in light of the fact that our founder, Bernard H. Jones, SR. was a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity
and our Chairman of the Board, Paul G. Patton, is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha and a member of OAA.
